Hellingly Parish Council’s Public Open Spaces – For All to Enjoy

Hellingly Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of many valued open spaces across the parish, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Our Open Spaces

We currently maintain the following areas:

  • Burfield Grange
  • Hellingly Country Park

  • Hellingly Community Hub Grounds

  • Lower Horsebridge Recreation Ground (including the newly acquired land)

  • Lower Dicker Speedway Recreation Ground

Over the next 12–24 months, more public open spaces are expected to be handed over to the Parish Council by local developers, expanding the areas available to the community.

Grounds Committee

The Grounds Committee oversees the supervision and administration of council-managed grounds, working alongside council officers.

Current members (up to 8 councillors):

  • Cllr S Davis

  • Cllr P Young

  • Cllr D White

  • Cllr D Lewin

Representatives from local sports clubs also attend by invitation.

Meetings

Committee meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM at the Community Hub.
Agendas are published one week in advance and can be found on this website or posted on parish noticeboards.

Meeting minutes will be added to the website once available. Please note: all minutes are draft until confirmed at the following meeting.
