Family Activity Days

Each year we host a range of fun, family-friendly activity days for our local communities in Hellingly, Horsebridge, and The Dicker. These events always take place during the school holidays on Wednesdays and are designed to be affordable, inclusive, and enjoyable for all ages.

Easter Craft Day
Our first event of the year is held during the Easter holidays. These popular craft days include a variety of creative activities alongside the main crafts. Sessions run morning and afternoon, booking is essential, and the cost is £2.50 per child.

An adult in a blue jacket entertains two young children at a table with art supplies, colouring pages, and decorated plates in a bright room with red wall panels. Two young girls work on a colourful craft project at a table, surrounded by craft supplies, snack bowls, drinks, and activity sheets in a brightly lit indoor setting. A performer in a red waistcoat gestures while speaking to a boy in a green hoodie at the front of a room. Several children sit at tables watching, with arts and crafts materials on the tables. A few adults are also present.

Summer Outdoor Activity Day
In the summer holidays, we host our exciting outdoor activity day from 10am–2pm, held either at Lower Horsebridge Recreation Ground or Hellingly Country Park. These events are completely FREE and always very popular, especially as attractions like the bungee trampoline and inflatables are included at no cost.

People gather around a pink and white Mr Whippy ice cream van in a park during an outdoor event, with families, children, and various activities visible in the background. A busy outdoor fete with families and children enjoying activities like a bouncy castle, games, and rides on a grassy field under a cloudy sky. Pushchairs and colourful play mats are scattered around.

Halloween Craft Day

We finish the year with our Halloween craft day, where children are encouraged to come dressed in their spookiest costumes and enjoy themed creative activities.

Two young girls sit at a table doing arts and crafts, with Hallowe’en decorations and supplies around them. An adult in an orange costume stands in the background near a doorway. A Halloween-themed table is decorated with zombie and mummy balloon figures, pumpkins spelling “BOO”, and a festive tablecloth with haunted house and ghost patterns. A “Happy Halloween” sign stands behind the table.

A colourful "Save the Dates" flyer with event dates: Easter Craft Day (8 April), Family Activity Day (29 July), and Halloween Craft Day (28 October), plus fun illustrations and the Hellingly Community Hub logo.

We’re incredibly proud to provide these events and strive to keep them as affordable as possible so all families can take part. We know school holidays can be expensive, so these days are designed to bring the community together, encourage outdoor play and creativity, and help families make lasting memories while enjoying everything our area has to offer.
