COUNCIL CALENDAR

Welcome to Hellingly Parish Council

Hellingly is a growing community, located below the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This combination of rural and urban life provides a wonderful area to live or visit. It is home to beautiful countryside, farms, rivers, activities, and plenty of history! Like most rural villages, there are plenty of routes for walking and cycling – especially the Cuckoo Trail, which takes you from Polegate to Heathfield.

The Parish Council has 15 Councillors, a clerking team of 6, a grounds team of 4, and two caretakers, all striving to do their utmost for the community. We have 6 committees dedicated to our services: Cemetery & Allotments, Finance, Grounds, Halls, Staffing, and Planning & Environment. Please see the Committees tab for more details.

Our office is located at the Hellingly Community Hub – please feel free to pop in and visit us during our council office hours, Monday to Thursday, 9am–3pm.

There are play areas and recreation grounds at the Country Park, Lower Horsebridge, and Lower Dicker. Many activities also take place at the Hub – please click on these links to find out more: WHATS-ON  or visit the Hub Facebook page.

Free Clubs at Hellingly Community Hub – Hellingly Parish Council offers several clubs free of charge:

  • Hellihubs A fun group for parents/carers to come along with their babies and toddlers

  • Youth Hub for children in school years 6–11

  • Young at Heart for over 55s

Every month, we also produce a monthly newsletter bringing you the latest news from the Parish Council and the Community Hub.

You can view it online HERE or pick up a printed copy from the Hub.

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, Hellingly offers a welcoming community spirit, beautiful surroundings, and plenty to get involved in. We’re proud of our parish and invite you to explore, connect, and make the most of everything Hellingly has to offer.
