Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is made up of seven Councillors. The current membership is:
Councillors D White (Chair), G Hesselgrave (Vice Chair), C Jackets, F Lulham, D Lewin, J Castle and S Davis.

The Finance Committee is responsible for administering all financial and personnel matters, working alongside the Responsible Financial Officer. Its duties include ensuring compliance with the Council’s Financial Regulations, preparing the draft precept, recommending grants to Council, carrying out the Council’s responsibilities as an employer, maintaining the Council’s asset register, and arranging appropriate insurance cover.

The Finance Committee generally meets three to four times a year to consider the Council’s budget and other financial matters as they arise. Additional meetings may be arranged if required. Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 7.00 pm in the Blue Room at Hellingly Community Hub.

Agendas are published one week in advance of each meeting and are available below, on the Council noticeboards, the website and via social media. Minutes will be published on the website as soon as they are available and remain draft until approved at the next meeting.
