Hellingly Parish Council’s Public Open Spaces – For All to Enjoy
Hellingly Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of many valued open spaces across the parish, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone to enjoy.
Our Open Spaces
We currently maintain the following areas:
- Burfield Grange
-
Hellingly Country Park
-
Hellingly Community Hub Grounds
-
Lower Horsebridge Recreation Ground (including the newly acquired land)
-
Lower Dicker Speedway Recreation Ground
Over the next 12–24 months, more public open spaces are expected to be handed over to the Parish Council by local developers, expanding the areas available to the community.
Allotment Gardens
The Parish Council manages two allotment sites within the parish:
Roebuck Park Allotments
Opened in March 2021, this site has 25 plots located within Hellingly Country Park.
Volunteer Supervisor Tim Knight oversees the gardens and liaises with the Clerk of the Cemetery & Allotment Committee.
